Additionally, between 12:30-1:15pm Kindergarten aged students will work with their classroom Head Teacher in the front room areas for specific lessons and are not required to participate in rest time. The kindergarten students receive lessons throughout the morning work cycle every day. Kindergarten students continue lessons with the Head Teachers. Rest Time for preschoolers begins in each classroom. Lunch Time within each classroom group, an individual water bottle is recommended, please label all your child’s food storage items and ice packs with their name. Recess / Break typically lasts 30-45 minutes.ĭismissal for morning students - children who attend a morning only schedule are dismissed beginning at 11:30am. Indoor break is offered during inclement weather days. Recess – Both classrooms enjoy Outdoor Recess beginning around 11am. Sunrise provides fresh fruits and vegetables weekly for the classroom Practical Life activities (i.e., orange juicing, apple cutting, banana cutting, carrot peeling and cutting, etc.) Or you may wish to have a separate snack pouch along with a lunch box. Snack – Sunrise requests that students bring their own snack to school each day (items such as fruits, veggies, yogurt, cheese, muffins, crackers, etc. This program fosters cooperation, social and emotional development and provides an additional opportunity for the children to work on their small and gross motor skills. Sensation Station - Once each week the classrooms visit Sensation Station in the Hayward St complex for an hour. Work Cycle Time - Teachers give individual and/or small group lessons from the various areas of the curriculum: Practical Life, Sensorial, Math, Language, Geography, Art, Cultural Studies, Science, HistoryĬircle/Group Time – Typically lasts about 20 minutes including short songs, books, calendar, weather, large group lessons from various curriculum areas, etc. Hold your child's hand in the busy parking lot.
